Six Over Sixty
This multi-media production is an invitation to a dinner party and full-hearted discussion with six colleagues, friends and fellow artists with a combined 200 years of rooted history in Washington, DC Arts & Humanities communities.
Featuring archival and currant footage captured by Host, Denaise Seals.
Guests of Honor include Sheila Crider, Nancy Havlik, Deborah Riley, Sylvia Soumah and Maida Withers. The project is funded in part by a generous grant from the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities
EAST OF THE RIVER STEM + ART FEST 2026
I am thrilled to have partnered with The Fishing School’s inaugural EAST OF THE RIVER STEM + ARTS FEST hosted at Ron Brown College Preparatory High School in Washington, DC
I was supported by four representatives from DC Google and despite their collective amount of screen time, their “wows” giggles and fascination was equivalent to any other first-time-thaumatrope viewer. Their assistance was invaluable and most appreciated during the very well-coordinated, speed-dating type rotation.
It was a fabulous afternoon. Congratulations to ALL!

What We Carry
"This collaborative performance installation brings together the practices and voices of Lorenzo Cardim, Jessy Hanson, and Sabriaya Shipley to explore grief as both personal memory and collective ritual. Through sewing, singing, and storytelling, we tend to wounds both visible and unseen, tracing the threads of immigration, addiction, displacement, cultural inheritance, and healing. Our work traces loss, not to resolve it, but to stitch presence into its absence."

Producing art requires both finely honed technical skills
and a sense of wonder..
Creativity is a balance of urgency and play.
…Her videos of my work have been terrific. She is very accommodating to our needs and great videoing both site work and proscenium stage choreography. Denaise is terrific with a “hand held” camera, getting right in among the dancers so the viewer feels he/she is part of the action. She is quite organized at storing my work and if I need a particular clip for a grant or proposal Denaise always delivers on time! I always look forward to seeing Denaise’s bright smiling persona at my performances. She’s the best!
